Sanford Morton

In 1958, Kent Morton's father started Mort's Pump & Plumbing Company, a full service pump and plumbing company. Kent, the oldest of the Morton boys, worked summers and weekends for the family based business during his youth. In 1972, after attending college and marrying, he became part owner of the company. He served as an employee in the pump department until his father's retirement in 1990. Thereafter, he served as President and company manager between 1990 and 1999 when the company was reorganized. At that time he became sole owner of a new corporation named Mort's Water Company which provides the same pump, plumbing, well, water conditioning, sewer, and digging services as the original.

Currently, the company employs 17 people all of which were field or office employees of the former company. This includes Sanford Morton, who has has served as water conditioning sales manager since 1986.

Mort's purchased an office/shop location in Webster City in September of 1995, and in January, 1996, entered the heating and cooling market in the Iowa Falls and Webster City areas. This was due to the acquisition of the Lennox dealership. The heating and cooling business is a division of Mort's Water Company d.b.a. Mort's Plumbing and Heating Company.

As a company, Mort's prides itself in its service to its customers. One of our goals is to provide exceptional service and value to our customers. We are very selective in our search for employees that are skilled and have an aptitude for learning. Our employees work for the public and many work in people's homes, therefore, we must have every confidence that the employee presents himself/herself professionally, is trustworthy, and has integrity.
